Eastern Province Governor Inaugurates Bayfront, Ajdan’s New Waterfront Destination on Al Khobar Corniche
Al Khobar, 1 November 2026
His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, inaugurated Bayfront on the Al Khobar Corniche this evening. The opening is part of wider efforts to humanize cities, revitalize waterfronts, and turn public spaces into lively destinations. These destinations give residents and visitors more to do, improve the urban landscape, and raise quality of life.
His Highness said that developing tourism and entertainment destinations gives residents and visitors more choices, drives economic and tourism activity, and raises quality of life across the region’s cities. He added that this suits the Eastern Province’s natural strengths and its location on the Arabian Gulf.
His Excellency Eng. Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Jubair, Mayor of the Eastern Province, said the project offers a complete experience that brings together entertainment, tourism, hospitality, and marine activities, and makes the waterfront more appealing. He said the Municipality is committed to developing its municipal assets in partnership with the private sector, so it can attract high-quality investment and create destinations that meet the expectations of residents and visitors.
Mr. Essam A.K. Al Muhaidib, CEO of Al Muhaidib Group, thanked His Royal Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province for his patronage and for inaugurating the project. He explained that Bayfront is owned by Al Muhaidib Group and was developed by Ajdan Real Estate Development, with support from the Eastern Province Municipality and the Tourism Development Fund. The new waterfront destination runs for one kilometer along the Arabian Gulf and has four zones, with sea-view restaurants and cafés, a sandy beach, pedestrian walkways, open spaces, and a range of recreational facilities. He added that the project reflects the drive to build distinctive destinations that make cities more people-centric and turn their spaces into lively hubs, supporting economic and tourism growth in the Eastern Province.
He noted that the design responds to the coastal setting. Open spaces and natural elements strengthen the destination’s connection to the sea, and a variety of facilities and spaces meet visitors’ needs and let them enjoy different seaside experiences.
At the close of the ceremony, His Royal Highness was presented with a commemorative shield to mark the occasion.
